With hay becoming a premium commodity both domestically and internationally, the need for adaptable and functionable hay sheds has seen the designs evolve to maximise the return on investment.
Completed in late 2021, this hay shed in the Mid North of South Australia’s cropping area, saw a lot of these design requirements that are becoming more frequent in sheds.
The structure included:
- 8m wide bays to fit 3 x 2.4m wide bales.
- A column removed to allow for extra wide machinery storage.
- Gutters flowing stormwater to one end of the shed,
- Importance placed on bale bumpers.
- Internal concrete edge beams to protect internal walls.
- Fully hot-dipped galvanised frame for longevity.
